Every extraordinary journey begins with a question.
Do I need a visa to visit Uganda?
Yes. Most visitors require a tourist visa, which can be obtained online via Uganda’s e-visa portal or on arrival. You can also opt for the East Africa Tourist Visa, which allows entry to Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda. Passports must be valid for at least six months. We’ll guide you through every step.
When is the best time to visit Uganda?
Uganda is beautiful year-round. The dry seasons (December to February and June to September) are ideal for gorilla trekking and wildlife safaris. The green seasons bring dramatic skies, fewer travelers, and rich birdlife. Whatever the season, Uganda’s beauty is lush, raw, and ever-present.
Is Uganda safe for travelers?
Yes — Uganda is considered safe and welcoming, especially along well-established tourism routes. The people are gracious, warm, and eager to share their country’s beauty. With expert guides, private transfers, and hand-selected lodges, your journey with us will be seamless and secure.
What health precautions should I take before visiting Uganda?
A yellow fever vaccination is required for entry, and malaria prophylaxis is highly recommended. We suggest consulting a travel health clinic at least 4–6 weeks before departure. Our team will also share a detailed pre-travel health and packing guide tailored to your route.
What fitness level is needed for gorilla trekking?
Gorilla trekking requires moderate to good fitness. Terrain can be steep, muddy, and humid, with treks ranging from 30 minutes to several hours. Porters are available and encouraged — not just to assist, but to support local livelihoods. The effort is always worth the moment you lock eyes with a silverback.
Can I combine gorilla trekking with a classic safari?
Absolutely. Uganda is home to incredible safari parks like Queen Elizabeth, Murchison Falls, and Kidepo Valley. You can track big cats on the savannah, take boat safaris with hippos and elephants, and still end your journey in the forests with mountain gorillas or chimpanzees. It’s a deeply rewarding mix.
What should I pack for Uganda?
For treks: long sleeves, hiking boots, gloves, gaiters, and a light rain jacket. For safaris: neutral-toned layers, sunglasses, and a hat. Uganda’s weather can shift quickly, so layering is key. We’ll provide a personalized packing list aligned with your activities, season, and comfort.
